Description of activity
Students write a procedure for a simple activity such as tying shoelaces or making a sandwich.

Prior learning
The students have participated in a joint construction lesson for a procedure, suggesting the wording and identifying commands to be used. They have observed demonstrations and then worked in small groups to write a procedure.

Producing  Texts (WS1.9)
  Plans, reviews and produces a small range of simple literary and factual texts for a variety of purposes on familiar topics for known readers
      Grammar and Punctuation (WS1.10)
      Produces texts using the basic grammatical features and punctuation conventions   of the text type

Criteria for assessing learning
Students will be assessed on their ability to:
- write a basic procedure in sequential order
- use numbers to indicate sequence in a procedure
- use action verbs and commands
- use adverbial phrases to add information about action
- use most common writing conventions
- use strategies to spell unfamiliar words
