Students create an interactive flash movie that shows four changing expressions on the face of an original cartoon character. The character should be sketched in pencil and students include a storyboard of the planned interactive movie.

Context

Students are undertaking Specialised Module 4, of the Industrial Technology Multimedia/Photography focus area. Through the study of previous modules they have developed skills in the selection and use of a range of software and hardware in the development and production of multimedia projects.

Outcomes

A student:
5.2.1 applies design principles in the modification, development and production of projects
5.2.2 identifies, selects and competently uses a range of hand and machine tools, equipment and processes to produce quality practical projects
5.3.2 selects and uses appropriate materials for specific applications

Criteria for assessing learning

(These criteria would normally be communicated to students with the activity.)

Students will be assessed on their ability to:

  • effectively communicate design ideas using:
    • pencil sketches of the character showing the four different expressions
    • a storyboard that communicates the layout of non-linear interactive movie
