Grade Work Samples
End of Stage 5 (end of Year 10)
Grade A Cameron  

Description:

Individually, students collect stimulus material and develop a concept/intent portfolio. They select music and develop and perform phrases of movement to communicate the concept or intent within the context of a dance as an artform.

Context:

Students have generated movement as a personal response to a concept and/or intent. They have developed an understanding of the use of the elements of dance to communicate a concept or intent. Students have developed motifs into phrases. They have an understanding of safe dance practices.

Areas for Assessment

Outcomes:

A student:

5.1.2 demonstrates enhanced dance technique by manipulating aspects of the elements of dance
5.2.2 composes and structures dance movement that communicates an idea

Criteria for assessing learning

(These criteria would normally be communicated to students with this activity.)

Students will be assessed on their ability to:

  • generate movement as a personal response to a concept or intent
  • organise phrases of movement into a structured dance composition to communicate a concept or intent
  • structure movement in relation to choice of music and concept or intent.
