Support network card

Grade Work Samples
End of Stage 4 (end of Year 8)
Grade B Ashley
Grade C Rania

Description of activity

This is an individual activity that requires students to develop a Support Network Card that:

  • identifies a range of possible situations that may arise where help is needed
  • identifies the appropriate support personnel in relation to each situation
  • identifies where/how this support can be accessed
  • describes the barriers that may prevent students from accessing appropriate support.

Context

This introductory unit of work uses initiative games and physical activities to promote positive social interaction among students and also develop skills in teamwork and problem solving. Previously in the unit students have identified some of the challenges associated with starting high school and through the use of a school map, or similar stimulus material, found places and people within the school that can provide them with help and advice where necessary.
