Work Samples - Below the expected standard

The work samples for this grade, together, assist teachers to gain a common understanding of the standard of work typically produced by students whose performance, on balance, is below the expected standard.

Activity: Where's the number? (View Activity…)

Students use markings to indicate where particular numbers are located on the number line, then explain the process they used.


Activity: Making spatial patterns (View Activity…)

Students make four different repeating patterns using pattern blocks or other materials.


Activity: Making shape pictures (View Activity…)

Students make a picture using different-sized paper shapes. They name the shapes they have used and describe how they have been used.
