Description of activity
Students will evaluate their recently completed bags. Various colouration and decoration techniques have been incorporated as part of the surface design.
Students are required to provide a written report evaluating the project work they have recently completed.
The report should include:
- the bag's performance criteria detailing functional properties and aesthetic aspects
- an explanation of materials, equipment and construction techniques selected in the production of the bag
- consideration of the bag's quality.
Context
This activity is from the unit of work, Inspired Bags, in Stage 5 Textiles Technology. In this unit students explore the creative process of design. Students identify sources of inspiration and use the creative process to develop and produce personalised bags. Colouration and decoration techniques are incorporated in the bag design giving students the opportunity to gain skills and develop confidence in technique application. Students have creatively documented and presented design development, production and evaluation of project work.
This activity focuses on students compiling a report on which their project work is evaluated.
