Description of activity
This activity relates to the textile item undertaken by students for textile projects across all focus areas. Students design and produce a textile item to develop a range of practical skills. The textile item should demonstrate creativity, be appropriate for its purpose and demonstrate proficiency in manufacture.
Context
Students have completed a number of textile projects to develop skills and confidence in the manipulation and use of a range of textile materials, equipment and techniques. The project work completed has been drawn from a range of focus areas.

Criteria for assessing learning
Students will be assessed on their ability to:
- produce a quality textile item with consideration to creativity, degree of difficulty, proficiency in manufacture, time management and appropriateness for its purpose
- select and use techniques to ensure a quality textile item
- select and use appropriate textile equipment to construct a quality textile item
- select and use appropriate textile materials.
