Bailey has demonstrated sound knowledge and understanding of the structure and features of a narrative. The structure is sound with a logically sequenced and developed plot but the text lacks descriptive language and character development. There is adequate use of paragraphing, punctuation and direct speech, and a variety of strategies has been used to spell common words accurately. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade C standard at the end of Stage 3.
