Description of activity
Students respond to the question 'How did the British colonisation of Australia change the daily life of Aboriginal peoples?'
- Students complete the worksheet, responding in a way that best allows them to show what they know and can do.
- They write an explanation, draw or list events, routines, customs etc of daily life of traditional Aboriginal people that have changed since the arrival of the British.

Prior learning
Students have undertaken research in and exploration of Aboriginal people before British colonisation, which will work towards answering questions, such as: ‘How did British colonisation affect the lives of Aboriginal and other peoples and what were the consequences for the continent?’ They have jointly and independently constructed explanations. At this stage in the teaching and learning cycle, they have investigated key historical events and sites, and explored the impact of colonisation on Indigenous Australians.
