Other Work Samples for:
Jamie has demonstrated sound knowledge and understanding of shapes and symmetry. A design has been created using a small number of pattern blocks and an accurate two-dimensional representation has been drawn. An adequate level of competence has been demonstrated in the flipping of the design but the description of the process is repetitive and uses little mathematical language. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade C standard at the end of Stage 1.
Grade C
The student has a sound knowledge and understanding of the main areas of content and has achieved an adequate level of competence in the processes and skills.Foundation Statement strands
The following strands are covered in this activity:
- Working Mathematically
Students ask questions and use objects, diagrams and technology to explore mathematical problems. They link mathematical ideas and use everyday language, some mathematical language and diagrams to explain how answers were obtained. - Space and Geometry
Students identify, describe, sort and model particular 3D objects and 2D shapes. They represent and describe the position of objects.
