Procedure - Ashley : Grade Commentary
Ashley has demonstrated sound knowledge and understanding of the structure and features of a procedure. A variety of action verbs and commands have been used, with action verbs beginning most of the steps. Numbers have been used to indicate the sequence but ordinal numbers, rather than cardinal numbers have been used. A list of materials has been included, and a title has been provided, although the title does not really match the text. Present tense has been consistently used and an attempt to include adverbial phrases has been made. A diagram has been used to support the text. Some strategies have been used to spell unfamiliar words but the punctuation is inconsistent. To progress further, Ashley could include more adverbial phrases and work on consistent letter formation, spelling and punctuation. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade C standard midway through Stage 1.
