Work Samples - Grade A

The work samples for this grade, together, assist teachers to gain a common understanding of the standard of work typically produced by students whose performance, on balance, matches the description for Grade A.

At the end of Stage 5 for the School Certificate, student achievement is reported using the Course Performance Descriptors. Read more about School Certificate Grading.

Activity: Writing an email/diary entry to a friend 100-200 words in French (View Activity…)

Students can choose to write an email to a friend, or they can write a diary entry.

Activity: Writing - Promotional Flyer (View Activity…)

Students will create a promotional flyer and decide on some new clothing items to wear to a friend's birthday party.

Activity: Speaking - Clothing Shop Conversation (View Activity…)

Students will work in pairs/groups to role-play a shopping transaction in an imaginary department store.

Activity: Reading and Responding - Email Birthday Response (View Activity…)

Students will decide what to buy their friend for his/her birthday by reading and responding to an email suggesting possible gift ideas.

Grade A

The student has an extensive knowledge and understanding of the content and can readily apply this knowledge. In addition, the student has achieved a very high level of competence in the processes and skills and can apply these skills to new situations.
