Feedback

Written feedback from the teacher will be provided commenting on the student's:

  • ability to name and locate the selected community
  • description of the factors that contribute to the community's sense of identity
  • discussion of the factors causing change in the community
  • explanation of the impacts of change in the selected community
  • use of stimulus and support material.

Future directions

This Activity leads to an overview of factors causing change in Australian communities. It is consolidated through an in-class case study of an Australian community responding to change.

Students experiencing difficulty with independent research may require a more detailed scaffold for future activities of this type. Equally those who have problems with writing their extended response will need to be supported in similar activities in future through structured questioning and report-response scaffolds.
