Xiang has demonstrated sound knowledge and understanding of the structure and features of an information report. There is evidence of effective research despite an incorrect fact in the opening paragraph. Information has been organised in paragraphs but some topics have been combined in the one paragraph. Simple and complex sentences have been used. There is some use of technical language, and a range of strategies has been used to spell familiar and unfamiliar words. There is some evidence of editing and the desktop publishing skills are effective. To improve, Xiang could include more detail and use a strong introduction and conclusion. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade C standard midway through Stage 3.
