Kendall and partners have demonstrated a very high level of competence in composing a dance sequence. Traditional and contemporary movements have been explored, refined and organised in a composition that demonstrates an extensive understanding of the elements of dance and complex choreographic techniques. A very high level of competence is evident in the expressive and movement skills. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by students performing at grade A standard at the end of Stage 3.

Grade A

The student has an extensive knowledge and understanding of the content and can readily apply this knowledge. In addition, the student has achieved a very high level of competence in the processes and skills and can apply these skills to new situations.

    Students perform dances from a range of contexts demonstrating movement and expressive qualities appropriate to the dance. They explore, refine and organise movement to convey meaning to an audience. They recognise and discuss how dance has various artistic and cultural contexts.
