Other Work Samples for:

Riley has demonstrated thorough knowledge and understanding of the structure and features of a recount. Adequate detail has been provided and a variety of sequencing words have been used but the text lacks a reorientation at the end. Simple sentences have been used but there is no evidence of paragraphing. The sentence beginnings lack variety and there are some incomplete sentences. To progress further, Riley could include more descriptive language and time connectives, and revise the use of apostrophes and capital letters. Strategies have been used to spell most words correctly but there are some punctuation errors. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade B standard midway through Stage 1.

Grade B

The student has a thorough knowledge and understanding of the content and a high level of competence in the processes and skills. In addition, the student is able to apply this knowledge and these skills to most situations.
