Textile Item - Ricky : Grade Commentary
Ricky has designed and produced a textile item of excellent quality showing a range of creative processes and techniques. A very high level of proficiency is evident in the manipulation of materials and techniques to produce hand-felted fabric of uniform thickness with an inlaid wool design. The selection and use of a range of appropriate construction techniques has ensured that the item is appropriate for the purpose and of excellent quality. An extensive knowledge and understanding of the properties of textile materials is evident. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at Grade A standard.
Grade A
The student has an extensive knowledge and understanding of the content and can readily apply this knowledge. In addition, the student has achieved a very high level of competence in the processes and skills and can apply these skills to new situations.
