Can-do Trigonometry - Stacey : Grade Commentary
Stacey has demonstrated thorough knowledge and understanding of trigonometric ratios in relation to right-angled triangles. Some definitions are implied rather than overtly expressed but higher-order thinking is evident in the solving of difficult problems and in the use of bearings in a real-life situation. There is some inappropriate use of degrees and minutes instead of length measurements that suggests the need to reflect on the reasonableness of the solution, but accurate, multi-step problems have been used to calculate both sides and angles. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade B standard midway through Stage 5.
Grade B
