Film Analysis - Cinematography - Huong : Grade Commentary
Huong has demonstrated a thorough understanding of the film analysis and cinematography. The review is detailed and makes strong attempts to constructively and critically analyse the chosen film. Huong’s style is lively and engaging. Elements of cinematography have been confidently discussed but correct filmic language has not always been used. There is a clear understanding of voice, purpose and audience, and a confident use of language, but the piece contains some inappropriate language choices that detract from the review as a whole. Huong has demonstrated a thorough understanding of the processes of composition and has made some inferences and interpretations. However, a focus on irrelevant aspects of the film detracts from the critical analysis as a whole. Huong has not made a sophisticated connection between the use of filmic techniques and the composer’s intention and meaning.
