Ashley has demonstrated an adequate level of competence in producing a script for the role-play. An appropriate range of vocabulary and linguistic structures has been used, although there are some errors. The ideas have been clearly expressed with correct hanzi when attempted but communication has been maintained using pin yin when necessary. There are some grammatical flaws and the register for the salesperson is too informal, but Ashley has demonstrated a sound understanding of Chinese culture and the way the language works as a system. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade C standard.
