ABORIGINAL IDENTITY AND DIVERSITY OF ABORIGINAL VISUAL ARTS

You have been asked to contribute to an exhibition that shows the diversity of Aboriginal culture as represented in Aboriginal artwork. Select at least two images and/or objects to put in the exhibition. Then develop a presentation to justify your selection by explaining how these images and/or objects reflect different Aboriginal cultural experiences and their importance to the maintenance of Aboriginal identity.

PROCESS

  • Select the images and/or objects. Check with your teacher to ensure the suitability of the images and/or objects you have selected. Ensure all images or objects are sourced.
  • Using a variety of sources such as books and websites, research how these images and/or objects reflect different Aboriginal cultural experiences and their importance to the maintenance of Aboriginal identity.
  • Decide how you will obtain and display these images and/or objects.
  • Justify and explain how your selected images and/or objects reflect different Aboriginal cultural experiences and their importance to the maintenance of Aboriginal identity (about 300 words).
  • Install your images and/or objects in the exhibition.
