Other Work Samples for:
Marley has demonstrated an excellent awareness of the features of a recount. Past tense has been consistently used and words indicating who, what, where and when have been included. Events have been well sequenced, descriptive detail has been provided and a personal comment has been included. There is good directionality, and letter formation is mostly correct. Simple sentences have mostly been used but an attempt has been made to write complex sentences using conjunctions. The punctuation is mostly correct. A good bank of known words has been demonstrated. Different strategies, such as copying words and sounding out, have been used to spell words. To develop further, Marley could include more descriptive language and time connectives. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing above the expected standard at the end of Kindergarten.
