Mackenzie has demonstrated an excellent awareness of the features of an information report. The scaffold has been well used and descriptive and technical language has been included. Simple and complex sentences have been used. Upper-case and lower-case letters have been correctly produced. Capital letters and full stops have been consistently used, but Mackenzie needs to use commas when listing information. A variety of spelling strategies have been used, such as letter-sound relationships, the inclusion of sight words and copied text. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing above the expected standard at the end of Kindergarten.
