Life writing - Nicky : Grade Commentary
Nicky has demonstrated an adequate level of competence in composing and evaluating a personal reflection. Ideas have been communicated clearly and effectively, showing an understanding of purpose, but more depth of analysis is required. Nicky has reflected generally on the strengths and weaknesses of the selected piece of writing and identified areas for further development. A sound understanding of literary devices and their impact has been demonstrated but the discussion of length of sentences and paragraphing to create impact is repetitive. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade C standard at the end of Stage 4.

The student has a sound knowledge and understanding of the main areas of content and has achieved an adequate level of competence in the processes and skills.
