Description of activity

Students document the evaluation of their final product and the processes undertaken during the development of their design product.

The documentation should include:

  • the process of realisation; tools and equipment, material and techniques
  • design product evaluation; criteria for success and evaluation techniques

Context

Students have been investigating and researching different pieces of adornment using a culture as inspiration. Using a variety of sources for inspiration, students have developed jewellery design ideas, and undertaken experimentation and testing using resin and silver in the development of their design product.

Outcomes

5.4.1 develops and evaluates innovative, enterprising and creative design ideas and solutions
5.6.3 dselects and uses a range of technologies competently in the development and management of quality design solutions

Criteria for assessing learning

(These criteria would normally be communicated to students with the activity.)

Students will be assessed on their ability to:

  • document project work and show evidence of:
    • realisation of design ideas using range of tools and equipment, materials and techniques
    • evaluate the design solution in relation to the identified need
