Courtney has demonstrated a thorough understanding of the structure and features of a film review. Although the sentence structure is inconsistent and there are errors in some attempts at complexity, there is a clear understanding of the characters' relationships with each other and their purpose in the plot. Viewpoints have been elaborated on and justified but some of the themes and issues require further analysis or explanation. A variety of strategies has been used to spell words but there are some errors in the punctuation and grammar that affect the fluidity. To progress further, Courtney could work on the structure of the text and expand the vocabulary used. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade B standard at the end of Stage 3.
