Morgan has demonstrated a very high level of competence in the fundamental movement skills of overarm throwing and catching. Strong control is evident in all aspects of the skills. In throwing, Morgan focuses on the target and takes a side-on stance but there is little rotation of the hips so the arm does not move across the body. In catching, Morgan has demonstrated consistent movement to the flight of the ball, outstanding hand-eye coordination and proficiency in absorbing the force of the object. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade A standard at the end of Stage 2.

Grade A

The student has an extensive knowledge and understanding of the content and can readily apply this knowledge. In addition, the student has achieved a very high level of competence in the processes and skills and can apply these skills to new situations.

    Students apply movement skills in dance, gymnastics, games and sports, and practise manipulative skills in a range of minor games. They perform movement sequences with consistency and control and demonstrate cooperation, effort and practice in physical activity. Students demonstrate proficiency in the fundamental movement skills of static balance, sprint run, vertical jump, catch, hop, side gallop, skip and overarm throw through practice and application in different games and sports. They participate in physical activity and investigate how it contributes to a healthy and active lifestyle.
