Other Work Samples for:
Courtney has demonstrated a very high level of competence in creating, continuing and recording number patterns for all four operations. Complex and interesting patterns have been used. Informed generalisations have been made about number relationships and most missing terms have been accurately predicted, but there are some minor errors, particularly with fractions. Some mathematical terminology has been used. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade A standard midway through Stage 2.
Grade A
The student has an extensive knowledge and understanding of the content and can readily apply this knowledge. In addition, the student has achieved a very high level of competence in the processes and skills and can apply these skills to new situations.Foundation Statement strands
The following strands are covered in this activity:
- Working Mathematically
Students ask questions and use appropriate mental or written strategies, and technology, to solve problems. They use appropriate terminology to describe and link mathematical ideas, check statements for accuracy and explain reasoning. - Patterns and Algebra
Students generate, describe and record number patterns and relate multiplication and division facts to at least 10 x 10.
