Flynn has demonstrated sound knowledge and understanding of the structure and features of a recount. Events have been adequately sequenced and time connectives have been used. A personal comment has been included. Simple and compound sentences have been used but the text has not been organised into paragraphs. Past tense has been consistently used and adjectives have been incorporated. A range of strategies has been used to spell words but the text would benefit from careful editing. The handwriting is mostly consistent but there is some confusion in the use of capital letters and some omission of commas. To progress further, Flynn could work on punctuation, paragraphing and editing.
