Shane has demonstrated a thorough understanding of the culture of Japanese-speaking communities and a high level of competence in communicating ideas in Japanese. Detailed information has been presented using appropriate vocabulary and a variety of linguistic structures. A clear comparison between the teenagers has been made but the inclusion of sushi for breakfast is not realistic. Kanji, hiragana and katakana have been used but there are some inconsistencies in the kanji and minor errors with particles and spelling. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade B standard.
