Sound cultural knowledge and understanding has been demonstrated through the use of the euro and European sizing, thereby reflecting an understanding of the interdependence of language and culture. Pat has communicated adequately in writing in the appropriate context for the set purpose and audience by selecting particular linguistic structures - Diese Schuhe kosten Є82,99, Grösse 32-60. There is some repetition and there are some grammatical mistakes, but these do not impede communication. There is some understanding of the interdependence of language and culture (although the shoe sizes are not accurate). A flaw in Pat’s response is the fact that there is no mention of a shop. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade C standard.
