Reading and Responding - Email Birthday Response - Jo : Grade Commentary
Jo's response addressed all required elements of the task at a sound level but needed more elaboration of details, with additional vocabulary, to be aligned with Grades A or B. Jo has responded adequately, but in a limited manner, to the stimulus. This student has given opinions and supplied some justification, but has not really tried to do more than the bare minimum for the task. Jo has used an adequate range of appropriate vocabulary, structures and joiners - eg 'en plus' - but the brevity of the answer and lack of variety of structures limits the answer. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade C standard.

The student has a sound knowledge and understanding of the main areas of content and has achieved an adequate level of competence in the processes and skills.
