Popular Film Review - Courtney : Grade Commentary
Courtney has demonstrated thorough knowledge and understanding of the purpose and features of a film review. Appropriate choice of language, and a strong awareness of the audience enhance the effectiveness of the review, and rhetorical flourishes add a distinctive personal voice. The review is critical but contains some inconsistencies in structure and ideas. The film has been evaluated insightfully, demonstrating strong awareness of contextual tones surrounding the film’s production and release but an ability to analyse the film as a visual text has not been convincingly demonstrated. Basic criteria relating to film techniques and the shaping of meaning have not been addressed in a broad and sustained manner. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade B standard at the of Stage 5.

The student has a thorough knowledge and understanding of the content and a high level of competence in the processes and skills. In addition, the student is able to apply this knowledge and these skills to most situations.
