Grade A

A student at this grade typically:

  • demonstrates detailed and extensive knowledge and understanding of factors that contribute to an Aboriginal person’s identity and the ways in which Aboriginal Peoples’ identities are maintained
  • demonstrates detailed and extensive knowledge of the dynamic nature of Aboriginal cultures and cultural expression, and the importance of families and communities to Aboriginal Peoples.
  • explains the importance of self-determination and autonomy for Aboriginal Peoples nationally and internationally.
  • assesses the significance of Aboriginal Peoples’ contribution to, and interaction with, the wider Australian society.
  • analyses how various factors influence attitudes towards Aboriginal Peoples and cultures, and the impact of these attitudes
  • applies highly developed research skills and appropriate community consultation protocols when working with Aboriginal communities, and communicates complex information and findings in a variety of forms.

Grade B

A student at this grade typically:
