Ali has demonstrated elementary knowledge and understanding of the importance of a balanced diet. The meal plan is very generic, at times unrealistic, and only takes into account the Dietary Guidelines for the general population. The meal choices are very limited and there is no differentiation for different family members. Some understanding of the influences on food choices is evident but there is no specific discussion of the impact of cultural or social influences.
