Operations with Fractions - Tai : Grade Commentary
Tai has demonstrated a basic understanding of fractions and can do some operations with fractions, but is inconsistent and inaccurate. Fractions are not simplified fully and, although a diagram was provided for question 4, it did not illustrate the problem. The word problem did not indicate an understanding of question 4 and there is a little evidence of mathematical understanding and solving unfamiliar problems. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade D standard midway through Stage 4.

The student has a basic knowledge and understanding of the content and has achieved a limited level of competence in the processes and skills.
