Although Huong has a sound understanding of circles and cylinders, there is incorrect use of the formula for volume, and the area of the circle has been calculated unnecessarily. Huong has measured reasonably accurately and has used the correct formula for finding the area of a circle but has not recognised the connection between circumference and radius. Huong has confused the term ‘circumference’ with that of ‘diameter’ and the conclusion reflects the lack of depth in the methodology used. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade C standard at the end of Stage 4.
