Courtney has correctly identified most items in the listening activity, demonstrating a thorough understanding of the main ideas and supporting detail. A high level of competence in expressing ideas in writing and applying learnt linguistic structures has also been demonstrated. The verb forms have been manipulated well but there is a consistent minor error. The plural form has not been used but nouns have been capitalised and complex vocabulary has been correctly spelt. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade B standard.

The student has a thorough knowledge and understanding of the content and a high level of competence in the processes and skills. In addition, the student is able to apply this knowledge and these skills to most situations.
