Courtney has demonstrated thorough knowledge and understanding of conventions of writing a persuasive letter. A strong sense of audience and purpose is apparent and is sustained throughout the response. A thorough understanding of the use of persuasive devices is apparent in the selection and application of persuasive techniques. The content is varied and a comprehensive overview on Australia is provided, but greater detail would enhance the response. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade B at the end of Stage 4.

Grade B

The student has a thorough knowledge and understanding of the content and a high level of competence in the processes and skills. In addition, the student is able to apply this knowledge and these skills to most situations.
