Dale has demonstrated a limited level of competence in communicating in written form. Some learnt linguistic structures have been applied and there is logical development and sequencing of ideas, but sentences have not been used and no specific language patterns have been demonstrated as the items are simply listed. There are inaccuracies in spelling and grammar with some confusion over the use of articles, but a basic understanding of the interdependence of language and culture in Arabic-speaking communities has been demonstrated.
