Candidate has presented a piano composition which demonstrates some understanding of popular music. A promising opening melody shows some evidence of development and phrasing; however, as the piece progresses, melody lacks direction. The harmonic material is simple and repetitious. The left hand part lacks variety. An attempt has been made to vary rhythmic material through some use of syncopation. Some structural organisation is evident. Score is clear with some tempo and dynamic markings.
