Darcy has demonstrated a thorough knowledge and understanding of the discussion text type. Two sides of the argument are confidently and articulately communicated with supporting evidence, although the discussion is heavily weighted on one side. Darcy has demonstrated a high level of competence in using suitable language features and conventions, despite some awkward sentences. Although there are some spelling and punctuation errors, a high level of competence in using basic desktop publishing skills has been demonstrated. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade B standard at the end of Stage 3.

The student has a thorough knowledge and understanding of the content and a high level of competence in the processes and skills. In addition, the student is able to apply this knowledge and these skills to most situations.

They use a fluent and legible style to write and employ computer technology to present written texts effectively in a variety of ways for different purposes and audiences. Students evaluate the effectiveness of their writing by focusing on grammatical features and the conventions of writing.
