Taylor has demonstrated sound knowledge and understanding of the content and structure of an information report. The writing has been adequately planned and present tense has been used. There is effective use of descriptive language, technical language and pronouns. A variety of sentence starters and some connectives have been used to join ideas but the organisation of information in paragraphs needs work. The handwriting is consistent in size and slope. A variety of spelling strategies have been used but Taylor would benefit from double-checking the spelling of basic sight words. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade C standard midway through Stage 1.
