Lesley has demonstrated a thorough understanding of the structure and features of a procedure. Numbers have been used to sequence the steps and there is good use of action verbs. A high level of competence is evident in the use of strategies to spell unfamiliar words but the punctuation is inconsistent. To progress further, Lesley could include adverbial phrases to add information and provide a concluding statement that refers back to the goal. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade B standard midway through Stage 1.
