Jordan has demonstrated a limited level of competence in reading and responding in Japanese. The email has been incorrectly addressed and is lacking in detail but there is evidence that Jordan has understood the original text. Appropriate vocabulary has been included but the sentence structure is simple and repetitive. There are inaccuracies in grammar and spelling, and roomaji has been used in place of katakana. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade D standard.

The student has a basic knowledge and understanding of the content and has achieved a limited level of competence in the processes and skills.
