Terry expresses her ideas logically and satisfies most of the requirements of the task. There is some lack of imagination and authenticity (eg no paying for items). There is no extensive knowledge of the culture of Japanese-speaking communities, for example using of kirei ja nai to describe the dress. The sequencing of ideas is good, as is vocabulary and structures. There is no evidence of manipulating the language to express ideas creatively. Terry’s pronunciation was generally good and she includes most relevant information. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade B standard.
