Ashley has demonstrated a high level of competence in written communication. A range of topics has been covered in the detailed and informative response, but the format of the letter is incomplete. Past tense has been used correctly and consistently, and a good attempt has been made to interact with the reader. A variety of vocabulary and sentence structures has been used, including some advanced structures. The letter flows well despite minor errors in the script and some culturally inappropriate word choice. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade B standard.

Grade B

The student has a thorough knowledge and understanding of the content and a high level of competence in the processes and skills. In addition, the student is able to apply this knowledge and these skills to most situations.
