Mel has demonstrated a very high level of competence in establishing and maintaining oral communication. The script is presented fluently and confidently with expressive use of voice and correct intonation. Items are described in detail using a wide range of appropriate vocabulary. Communication is maintained through the use of natural Japanese phrases between sentences. Mel has responded creatively to the task and demonstrated a perceptive understanding of the language and culture. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade A standard.

Grade A

The student has an extensive knowledge and understanding of the content and can readily apply this knowledge. In addition, the student has achieved a very high level of competence in the processes and skills and can apply these skills to new situations.
