Robyn has demonstrated a very high level of competence in reading and responding in Japanese. The response to the original email is creative and shows coherent development of ideas. The opinions have been clearly expressed and justified despite minor errors in spelling, particles and conjunctions. The ending is a little abrupt and the cost of the gift has not been mentioned, but the use of katakana is excellent. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade A standard.

Grade A

The student has an extensive knowledge and understanding of the content and can readily apply this knowledge. In addition, the student has achieved a very high level of competence in the processes and skills and can apply these skills to new situations.
