Ariel has demonstrated superior skills of rhetoric in composing a sophisticated, highly sustained and most coherent argument. This student has responded to a demanding text with critical insight, generalising confidently in presenting competing views of the world in a logical way. A perceptive use of supporting evidence supports these arguments in a highly effective and coherent manner. Ariel has successfully articulated an understanding of the issues presented in the television program in keeping with the contextual demands of a particular purpose and audience. Ariel has successfully maintained control of the register in both letters. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade A standard at the end of Stage 5.

Grade A

The student has an extensive knowledge and understanding of the content and can readily apply this knowledge. In addition, the student has achieved a very high level of competence in the processes and skills and can apply these skills to new situations.
